What to do if you need to get more help with your insurance questions and/or issues.
Before filing a complaint, obtaining legal counsel, or calling the department of insurance we would always recommend calling your local insurance agency to resolve any issues or answers any questions you may have. If they are unable or unwilling to help the next step would be to either file a complaint with the department of insurance and/ or obtain legal counsel.
Please note, that it is best to try and resolve the problem with your insurance company internally. The department of insurance deals with a large volume and therefore it may be a lengthy process; and at the end you may not get the outcome you had hoped for. Legal counsel can be costly and your insurance policy usually contains a list of exclusions; one being the ability to sue them, insurance is considered take it or leave it.
